Afsaneh Karami, a Cohort 4 AgriFoRwArdS CDT student who is currently studying her PhD at the University of East Anglia, attended the London Imaging Meeting in London on the 26th to 28th June 2024.
Afsaneh was invited to present her paper titled ‘Unifying Path and Centre-Surround Retinex Algorithms’ at the event.
Here is what Afsaneh had to say about her experience at the meeting.
Last June, I had the opportunity to participate in the LIM conference in London focused on imaging science. It covers topics like colour, image enhancement, multi and high-spectral images, optical systems, quantum imaging and photon-efficient techniques.
The event included a one-day summer school followed by a two-day conference, offering a rich blend of learning and networking experiences. During the summer school, I attended various lectures presented by experts from different fields in computer vision which deepened my understanding of the latest advancements in image processing research. These sessions were particularly beneficial as they provided hands-on experience and direct interactions with leading experts in the field.
My paper was accepted for this conference giving me the opportunity to present my research which is about the new version of the Retinex algorithm. This presentation allowed me to showcase my work, receive valuable feedback, and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow researchers and professionals. The entire experience was immensely rewarding, enhancing both my academic knowledge and professional connections.
Thank you to Afsaneh for taking the time to share her experiences of this conference.
